Ali Aden Abdi Programme Adviser, Somalia/Somaliland
Abdi joined Saferworld in 2010 as Program Adviser for Somalia/Somaliland. Prior to working Saferworld he worked at the Life and Peace Institute (LPI) as Somalia Program Coordinator and as a Program Adviser from 2005 - 2010. Abdi has substantial experience in the peace and security sector having worked as a private consultant, training on conflict and peace building to a number of organizations including Oxfam UK, Camel bell and a number of local Somali organizations. He has also worked in Somalia with the World Food Organization as food Security consultant, with Oxfam GB as a Project Officer, Program Coordinator and Program Adviser in food security.
Abdi has a Masters in of Armed Conflict and Peace Studies from the University of Nairobi and a laureate of Agricultural Science, Faculty of Agriculture from the Somali National University.
