Joanne Crouch Non-State Actors Project Manager, Somalia and Somaliland
Joanne joined Saferworld in March 2014 to manage Saferworld’s projects working with Non-State Actors in Somalia/land. Prior to this, she worked for a regional gender and conflict network supporting interventions across the Horn of Africa inclusive of Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Sudan and South Sudan with a particular emphasis on gender norms, multiple perpetrator rape, plural legal systems and access to justice and human trafficking. Joanne has over 8 years’ experience working with civil society on conflict transformation in a range of countries inclusive of Colombia, Guatemala, Israel and Palestine. She holds a Bachelor’s in philosophy and politics from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS, University of London.
