Ashim Pandey Country Manager, Nepal
Ashim joined Saferworld in January 2015 and is responsible for managing our Nepal programmes, including supporting the implementation, planning and monitoring of the Nepal country strategy.
Before he joined Saferworld, Ashim spent five years working with NGO GIZ on their 'Support of Measures to Strengthen the Peace Process in Nepal' project, which focused on the socio-economic reintegration of Maoist army combatants, with a particular emphasis on involving all conflict-affected community members, ex-combatants, marginalised groups, and youth.
He also worked in Indonesia for a year and a half with GIZ supporting a microfinance and economic sector programme in Aceh, in response to the tsunami.
Ashim has a Master's in International and Development Economics from Germany.
