Arzuu Sheranova Project Coordinator, Central Asia
Arzuu joined Saferworld’s Central Asia programme, based in Osh, Kyrgyz Republic as Project Coordinator in December 2013. Arzuu has several years of experience in the non-profit sector in the Kyrgyz Republic, focusing on conflict mitigation, negotiation, good governance and programme development.
Her most recent experience includes working as a Program Development Officer with International Resources Group (IRG Ltd.) (USAID/OTI – Kyrgyz Republic Transition Initiative program), which involved development of grant activities, drafting concept notes and proposals, assisting in strengthening community capacity for conflict prevention, mitigation and resolution; and monitoring and evaluation of proper implementation of the approved grants.
In two years of working at USAID/OTI Arzuu developed and monitored around 50 project activities with a total budget of more than $1.8million aimed at conflict mitigation and improving local and national governance. Arzuu has two master’s degrees in Law, Politics and Security in Central Asia from Russian State Social University and the OSCE Academy in Bishkek.
