Ursala Knudsen-Latta Research and Policy Officer
Ursala Knudsen-Latta is a Research and Policy Officer based in Washington DC. Prior to joining Saferworld, Ursala worked at Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) and Women in International Security, where she worked on issues of CVE, gender, the Sustainable Development Goals and monitoring and evaluation.
Ursala studied Religions and Theology at the University of Manchester, where her research focused on religion and conflict in South Asia. After graduation, she worked with the Anchorage Interfaith Council, and the North American Interfaith Network to grow interfaith understanding in the US. In 2014, she graduated with a Masters International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University with an emphasis in Applied Peacebuilding. During her Masters, she was awarded a Critical Language Scholarship for immersion study of Urdu in Lucknow, India. She has also studied Social Innovation, Technology and Peacebuilding at Ulster University’s INCORE International Summer School.
