People's Peacemaking Perspectives Project

The People’s Peacemaking Perspectives (PPP) project was a joint initiative between Saferworld and partner Conciliation Resources from 2010 to 2012 to elevate the voices of people affected by conflict and bring their concerns and recommendations to policymakers and other national or international groups. By partnering with a range of organisations, we were able to connect with people across different contexts – from the Balkans and the Caucasus to Asia, East Africa and the Middle East to bring the views and perspectives of people affected by conflict right to decision-makers in Brussels and other policy centres.

The result of these participatory consultations was a collection of 18 conflict analyses, which were  shared with the European Union  as evidence for how to best engage in conflict-affected countries. Our research also recommended how political, policy and international programmes could be improved to better promote peace.
