Conflict-sensitive development tools

To ensure that development projects and programmes have a positive impact, conflict sensitivity should be applied to all types of aid, from direct budget support, to national poverty reduction strategies and local projects.

Central to conflict-sensitive programming is a thorough conflict analysis that informs the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes.

There is a long way to go before most donors and development organisations do this. To help those who would like to be more conflict-sensitive, Saferworld and partners have developed a resource pack and provides technical advice and training on these issues.

The resource pack

Conflict Sensitive Development Resource Pack The resource pack has been shaped by broad consultation in donor countries as well as in Kenya, Uganda and Sri Lanka. The pack is a resource for practitioners in government, civil society and donor agencies to ensure that all their work is conducted in a conflict-sensitive way.
