Saferworld has made detailed studies of countries in South Eastern and Eastern Europe to examine the nature and extent of the spread of small arms and governments' ability to maintain adequate controls over them.

We focus our research on policy and action and source information from as wide a range of actors as possible. We include the government departments responsible for arms control and policing in our consultations so that the research findings can inform government policy and action.
