On track for improved security?

A survey tracking changing perceptions of public safety, security and justice provision in Nepal

Summary

Saferworld, and Nepali partner organisation, Interdisciplinary Analysts (IDA), have published the second in a series of surveys tracking and analysing public perceptions of security and security provision in Nepal. This comparative analysis provides a picture of how ordinary Nepalis’ views are changing over time.

The new report, ‘On track for improved security?’, builds on the findings of the 2007 survey (‘Public safety and policing in Nepal’) and analyses the results of a nationwide household survey (3,000 respondents), in-depth interviews and desk research. This research is part of Saferworld’s three-pronged approach to enhancing security in Nepal, complementing a bottom-up, civil society initiative and a top-down, high-level security policy dialogue programme.

The report is available in Nepali and English. It is also possible to download the questionaire and the results data tables.
