We are looking for an entrepreneurial candidate with solid business development and commercial contracting experience to help us grow our commercial funding portfolio. We have a robust income base of approximately £20 million/year comprising primarily grant funding from statutory and institutional donors.
The Business Development Manager is a new post in the recently reformed Funding Team; the post-holder is responsible for overseeing the development of new income streams. Commercial contracts already make up a small proportion of our income; the priority for the post-holder is to achieve year on year growth by helping to position Saferworld in the commercial tendering market. This includes building up network and partnership opportunities for consortia working, and supporting colleagues in our country and policy/advocacy programmes and our affiliates in the US and Europe to identify opportunities and develop high quality commercial bids.
