Saferworld's annual review 2019-20
Over the past year, the COVID-19 crisis cut across international conflict prevention in unexpected and testing ways, showing its potential to undermine local peacebuilding. In response, we adapted our work. With our partners, we are working to the long-term goal of building peace – through the highly effective blend of working both at the community level and though our global advocacy, and many levels in between.
Our 2019–20 annual review shares highlights on how we have worked with partners to:
- support COVID-19 responses in countries affected by conflict
- strengthen our work to build equal partnerships
- work with Yemeni civil society organisations to become financially sustainable
- help young people make their voices heard in Kyrgyzstan
- work with the government and communities in Kenya to develop plans to avert climate change-related conflict
- support women’s rights activists in Nepal
