As UK MPs vote on Gaza, Saferworld joins over 60 organisations calling for an immediate ceasefire

21 February 2024

Saferworld joins over 60 other organisations in an open letter to UK Members of Parliament, who are voting on 21 February on a motion calling for a ceasefire. We urge MPs to support the motion.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has resulted in unfathomable death and destruction. At least 28,5761 Palestinians have been killed, while thousands remain missing under the rubble of destroyed buildings.

Without an immediate and permanent ceasefire, humanitarian organisations cannot deliver the assistance that is so desperately needed, making further loss of life inevitable. A ceasefire will also facilitate the release of hostages and curtail the risk of regional conflict amid multiple strikes in several countries.
