Support to Tajikistan community-centred police reform

Tajikistan continues to struggle to provide a security sector that is accessible to the majority of the public, not just its powerful few. This inability to access justice can lead to resentment and mistrust between the authorities and the people they are supposed to protect.

In 2016, Saferworld began supporting efforts to establish mutual trust between authorities and members of conflict-affected communities across Tajikistan. This three-year project aims to strengthen and expand the community-based policing approach by increasing the connections between authorities and communities to identify and address safety concerns and build safer communities.
